Our top tips for dogs

Nestled against the bank of the River Wye, the main attraction is Tintern Abbey which has been a tourist destination since the 18th century.

Enjoy a walk or cycle to the historic town of Monmouth along the river Wye.

Only a 10 minute drive from our campsite lies Goodrich Castle, which once guarded a crossing of the River Wye in the 11th century.

Spring 2025 We've had a great start to the 2025 season here at Doward Park Campsite. The weather has been hot and sunny which has made for a lot of happy campers! As always it's been great to welcome lots of new campers as well as many returning guests.

April/May are amazing months to visit us here at Doward Park Campsite. The woodland surrounding the site is covered with blue and white as the bluebells, wild garlic and other spring flowers take over the Doward, and the greenery of the trees return. There are so many walks leaving the campsite to enjoy; roam the nature reserves, explore King Arthurs cave, soak in the views from Seven Sisters viewpoint or stroll along the river to one of the local pubs. One of our favourite short loops is the walk to the Seven Sisters viewpoint. This walk takes you through the woods, passed King Arthurs cave and on to a beautiful viewpoint on the Seven Sisters rocks overlooking the river Wye.
