A walk or cycle to Monmouth is a lovely way to spend the day. You can leave from the campsite, down to the river Wye where you cross the suspension bridge. Stoll past ancient woodland and keep an eye out for kingfishers darting past you on the river. You can then pop in to the historical town on Monmouth. You can head to the iconic 13th century gatehouse bridge over the river Monnow, explore the free museum at the shire hall and enjoy many of the independent shops in town. You can view the route below (If cycling cross the suspension bridge and then return the same way as the opposite side of the river is not cycle friendly):
