The beautiful village of Tintern is half an hour drive from the campsite. Nestled against the bank of the River Wye, the main attraction is Tintern Abbey which was founded by monks in 1131 and has been a tourist destination since the 18th century.
There are several walks to enjoy. The Devils Pulpit takes you uphill through woodland to a viewpoint overlooking the abbey. Where as the Angidy trail takes you through woodland on the other side of the river past historic remnants of the wireworks via a lovely stream.
