Canoe or kayak on the River Wye
A canoe or kayak trip is the best way to experience the river wye. There are multiple canoe hire companies close by to choose from, you can arrange by the hour or do a half/whole day tour. Walk to Yat Rock viewpoint at Symonds Yat.
For one of the best views over the river wye, head up to the viewpoint at Yat Rock in Symonds Yat. Here you not only have a spectacular view, but also the chance to spot peregrine falcons who nest in the cliffs. Walk from the campsite down to the river and over the bridge at Biblins. King Arthur's Cave
A favourite with kids, king Arthurs cave is only a 5 -10 minute walk from the campsite. The limestone cliffs formed 345 million years ago and in the 1800's excavators found the remains of hyenas, lions, bears and woolly mammoths in the cave!

Woodland walk to Symonds Yat pubs: Ye Old Ferrie Inn or The Saracens Head Inn
We understand that many of you enjoy a drink after a good walk, so we've put together a pleasant route to the nearby pubs in Symonds Yat. Ye Old Ferrie Inn is conveniently located on our side of the river, but you can also opt to cross over to The Saracens Head Inn - Symonds Yat by hand ferry... or why not visit both! This delightful walk takes you through the woods and along the river.

Flora & Fauna of the Doward
We are lucky to have such a large amount of flora & fauna in our local woodland on the Doward. Whilst relaxing on the campsite you can spot squirrels, woodpeckers, robins, jays, deer and more. Butterfly Zoo & Maze
The butterfly zoo and maze are great for the kids and a good wet weather activity! You can witness their life cycle, from egg to caterpillar and from chrysalis to butterfly. Climb A Mountain!
Just a short hop over the border to Wales and you have an excellent choice of mountains to climb! Head Underground At The Big Pit National Coal Museum
