Tips For Your Dogs!

We love meeting all the dogs here at Doward Park Campsite so here are our top doggy tips! Dog Friendly Pubs/Cafes - Ye Olde Ferrie Inn Pub - A lovely pub with riverside seating about a 40 minute walk from the campsite - The Saracens Head Pub - Another nice riverside pub located on the opposite side of the river. Either head over the hand ferry or for a longer walk cross over the suspension bridge. - Woods Of Whitchurch - A nice little cafe in the small village of Whitchurch at the bottom of the hill - The Boat Inn - A beautiful pub on the river in Redbrook with a gorgeous garden. About a 15 minute drive. Our Favourite Dog Walks If your dog likes a swim then we recommend heading down to the river. Either head over the suspension bridge and right towards Monmouth. You will find a couple of nice shingle spots with shallow waters. Or stay on our side of the river and head towards the rapids. Slightly before you reach them there is a lovely shallow spot for the dogs (and people) to have a paddle. For a short loop we always head to the Seven Sisters, through the woodland, past King Arthurs Cave and along the clifftops. Keep your dog on a lead in you want to head onto the cliff view points! Then back round to the campsite, taking around 20 minutes. Pop into reception and we can help you out with directions and maps and more routes! We always have a bowl of water and a stock of dog ice cream in our shop!
